About the Siri Class Action Settlement
Apple has finally agreed to settle the Siri eavesdropping lawsuit, with affected users eligible for up to $20 per device from a total settlement fund of up to $95 million. Claims are now open.
Covered devices include iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBook, iMac, HomePod, iPod touch, and Apple TV. The lawsuit alleges that because of unintended Siri activations, Apple obtained and shared confidential communications. Apple denies all allegations in the lawsuit and maintains that its conduct was neither improper nor unlawful. The settlement creates a $95 million fund for eligible device owners in the United States or its territories.
If you owned or purchased a Siri-enabled device between September 17, 2014 and December 31, 2024, and Siri was unintentionally activated during a private conversation, you may be eligible to claim compensation from the class action settlement.
The settlement class does not include Apple and any of its controlled entities; Apple directors, officers, and employees; Apple’s legal representatives, successors, and assigns; and all judicial officers involved in the case, along with their staff and immediate family members.
Important Dates
- Stay in the settlement class and submit a claim form to receive payment: Deadline: July 2, 2025

- Submit a comment or objection to the settlement, or attend the hearing: Deadline: July 2, 2025. You may tell the court what you think about the settlement.
- If you do nothing, you will automatically give up your rights and be bound by the settlement.
Claim Overview
If you believe you qualify as a settlement class member, you must submit a valid claim form to receive compensation. Each settlement class member may submit claims for up to 5 devices, and claims must be based on unintended Siri activation. Valid claims will receive a pro rata share of the net settlement fund, up to $20 per device. The final payment amount will be determined after all claims are reviewed. See the notice for details.
If you received a card containing a Claim ID and Confirmation Code, use those codes when submitting your claim. If you did not receive a notice but believe you are eligible, you can still visit the claim submission page and file a claim.
You may also choose to exclude yourself or object to the settlement.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- If you received a settlement notice with a code, enter it in the first step. If not, click New Claim and fill in your personal information.
- Enter your personal information. Note: Based on reader feedback, if you put your address in the Street Address 2 field, you may get an inconsistent error and be unable to submit. The workaround is to put the full address in Address 1 and leave Address 2 blank.
- Enter your device information. It is best to use the email address associated with your Apple ID. Then fill in the serial number and the specific device model. If you plan to upload proof of purchase in the next step, you may leave this blank. You can submit up to 5 devices.
- Upload proof of purchase, such as a receipt or email screenshot.
- Enter your payment details. Choosing Bank Account will send the payment directly to your bank account; choosing Email will send you an e-check.
- Finally, sign and submit.
