Not long ago, Malaysia announced that Chinese travelers would be visa-free for travel to Malaysia starting on December 1. Now, Singapore is set to offer visa-free entry for Chinese travelers as well.
Singapore and China have recently reached an important agreement to strengthen bilateral people-to-people exchanges through a 30-day mutual visa-free arrangement. The news was announced after the Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) meeting co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong and Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier of the State Council.
After the meeting, both sides announced 24 joint outcomes covering multiple areas, including health, education, and finance, reflecting an upgraded all-round, high-quality, forward-looking partnership.
According to a statement released by Singapore’s Prime Minister’s Office, both sides will discuss the implementation details and plan to roll out the 30-day mutual visa-free agreement in early 2024. This should make travel between the two countries more convenient and help promote bilateral cooperation and exchanges.
