Shanghai Pudong International Airport Terminal 2 Lounge 69

Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG/ZSPD) has two international terminals. The approximate airline distribution is SkyTeam in T1, while Star Alliance and oneworld are in T2. In Terminal 2, the PPS-contracted lounges are Lounge 66, Lounge 69, and Lounge 77. This article brings you a review of Lounge 69.

After immigration and security, go upstairs and turn left. After walking a short distance, you will see the escalators to Lounges 68 and 69 near Gate 68. Lounge 68 is a oneworld lounge operated by Dragonair and Cathay, while Lounge 69 is the PPS lounge reviewed in this article. To enter Lounge 69, you need to swipe your PPS card and present a same-day boarding pass. The standard access period is two hours. Please note that PPS card users in Lounge 69 also do not receive boarding announcements, so be sure to keep track of your boarding time to avoid missing your flight.

For some reason, the Qatar Airways (QR) logo is not placed in the oneworld lounge on the left, but instead appears in Lounge 69 on the right. I do not understand why this is the case. The food, drinks, and service at Cathay's Pudong lounge are unquestionably better. In addition to entering this lounge through an airline premium cabin ticket or elite status, you can also use:

  • Priority Pass card; or
  • Diners Club Card Premier or Diners Club Card Elite card

to enter this lounge.

Lounge interior

Lounge 69 is divided into two areas, one for business class passengers and one for first class passengers. However, despite this difference, the decor, layout, and food in the two areas are almost exactly the same. The lounge is actually not very large, but because I arrived relatively early that day, it was still fairly easy to find a seat. 69-space-1

Food and drinks

Compared with Lounge 77, the food offered in Lounge 69 is much simpler. That morning, breakfast consisted only of steamed dumplings, fried noodles, and instant noodles in various flavors, along with some bread and sandwiches.

The drink selection is not too different from Lounge 77, and the variety is still fairly good. However, the alcoholic drinks are limited to beer.

Conclusion

Among the three PPS lounges at Pudong Airport, Lounge 77, the China Eastern Plaza Premium Lounge is the best in terms of both space and food and drinks, so we recommend that readers choose Lounge 77 first. However, Terminal 2 at PVG is extremely large, so if your gate number is on the low side and closer to Lounge 69, then Lounge 69 is also a good choice.
