【Updated 2022.3.8】Miles APP referral rewards no longer require the referred user to complete any travel in order for you to earn the referral bonus. From 3/8 to 3/10, if you successfully refer 5 people to sign up, you can earn a $50 Amazon Gift Card. If you have plenty of phone numbers, don’t miss this one. If you have not registered yet, feel free to sign up with referral code EI9LJP or JGSSN9.

【Updated 2022.2.16】It has been a while since the last update. Miles APP now shows another updated referral offer: from 2/16 to 2/19, if you successfully refer 5 people and the referred users complete at least 5 trips of more than 3 miles each, you can get a $225 Amazon Gift Card plus a 100000mi mileage bonus. Generally speaking, 5000mi can be redeemed for a $1 Amazon Gift Card, so 100000mi is worth at least $20 in Amazon Gift Cards. You can also redeem for Walmart, Target, or other merchant gift cards. If you have not registered yet, feel free to use referral code JGSSN9 when signing up (after downloading the Miles app, enter the invite code under Enter invite/special code in the Acount menu on the main screen). In principle, this APP does not require identity verification. As long as you have enough phones, phone numbers, and email addresses, you can create multiple accounts and refer yourself. This round of rewards is pretty solid, so if you have enough devices it may be worth a try. If all goes smoothly, you should be able to get the reward. If customer service refuses to issue it, you may need to email support; the author previously received the referral reward only after contacting support and saying a bbb complaint would be filed.

【Update 4】Miles APP shows that the referral reward has been updated again. From 2/15 to 2/21, if you successfully refer 6 people and the referred users complete their first trip, you can get a $75 Amazon Gift Card. If you have not registered yet, feel free to use one of the referral codes in this post.

【Update 3】There is a $1 Amazon Gift Card available to redeem in rewards, and it costs 4000 miles. Supply is probably limited, so redeem it quickly if you see it.

【Update 2】The $50 Amazon Gift Card from the previous promotion has been received. Screenshot below:

If you referred 5 or more people during the promotion period, check your rewards account. If the gift card has been issued, you should be able to see it there; searching Amazon directly in rewards should also bring it up. If it has not been issued yet, you should also receive an email from Miles saying the gift card has been delayed.

The promotion appears to be legit. The current new promotion is that referring 5 or more people between 1/4 and 1/10 can earn a $40 Amazon Gift Card, so it is still worth doing. If you do not have enough phones, you can consider wiping a spare phone and registering a new Miles account to earn the referral reward. Feel free to use the referral codes in this post or in the comments.

【Update 1】After downloading the app, use the code Stocking to get an extra 500 milse; you should see it when you open the app. This app can also be registered in China; click here. However, it may not track miles there, though you can still earn the sign-up bonus, referral rewards, and occasional promo codes.

Also, as mentioned below, registration does not require identity verification. In theory, if you have enough phone numbers (the blog has already shown readers how to get plenty of those), enough Apple IDs, and enough email addresses, you know the rest.

About the Miles app

Miles App is an app that lets you earn miles from everyday travel. It tracks your mode of transportation and distance traveled, then awards points accordingly. Miles App automatically detects your trips; you just need to allow the APP to access your location. The app awards miles for daily transportation roughly as follows:

  • Flights: earn 0.1 mile in rewards for every 1 mile flown
  • Driving: earn 1 mile in rewards for every 1 mile driven
  • Carpool: earn 3 mile in rewards for every 1 mile traveled
  • Walking/running/biking: earn 20 miles in rewards for every 1 mile traveled

Other modes of travel can also earn corresponding rewards.

Promotional code

Miles app frequently has promo codes and promotions. Usually the app will notify you directly, so remember to tap through when you see them.

Redeeming rewards

Points can be used to redeem merchant offers, and many offers can be redeemed for free, such as:

  • Noom 14-day free trial
  • Apple Music free for 3 months
  • Pandora Premium free for 3 months
  • Pay $5 for a Restaurant.com $25 voucher
  • Apple News free for 1 month

Some offers require a certain number of miles to redeem, such as:

  • 50 miles for $15 0ff your first order at Chewy.com
  • 200 miles for 3 months of free coffee at Panera Bread
  • 50 miles for $110 in Postmates delivery credit

There are many similar offers, so they will not all be listed here. In addition, Miles also has sweepstakes and limited-time gift card redemptions. The author has redeemed Amazon gift cards twice before (10000 miles=$10), and there was also a $5 Walmart gift card available some time ago for 5,000 miles. If you are targeted for these, they can be quite worthwhile.

Referral rewards

Recently, Miles also launched a Referral program. Referring 5 or more people to sign up can earn a $25/$35/$50 Amazon Gift Card. The current promotion is:

  • Refer 5 or more people to register for Miles APP during 12/17/2020-1/3/2021;
  • and have them complete their first trip to earn a $50 Amazon Gift Card.
  • If you can refer $500 people at one time, you can earn a $1,000 Amazon Gift Card

Referred users can receive 1000-2000 miles, and registered users can claim 500-2500 free miles each month. Accumulating points through referrals and the monthly free miles can add up fairly well. At the moment, this promotion is basically very easy to complete: after signing up for Miles App, open the APP, enable location access, and take your phone with you for a quick drive. Since the APP only requires phone number verification and does not require identity verification, in principle, as long as you have enough phones and enough phone numbers, you can refer yourself and complete the reward requirements. The author thinks this promotion is quite good, so go download the APP and earn that $50 Amazon Gift Card.

Using it in China

KUKU personally tested that this app can be registered in China, and both registration and use do not require a VPN. In principle, registration requires a real U.S. mobile number (VoIP numbers such as GV cannot be used). If you do not have one, using an Apple ID to register (or receiving the verification code by email) means you do not need to verify a U.S. phone.

After registering, you may not necessarily receive walking rewards. However, through occasional promotions or referrals, you can still accumulate quite a few miles.
