Marriott has improved how Free Night Awards work. You can now add up to 25,000 points to a certificate redemption, which makes these awards much more flexible. For example, a 35,000-point Chase Marriott Free Night Award can now be topped off with up to 25,000 points to book a 60,000-point hotel. An 85,000-point Brilliant Free Night Award can now be topped off to redeem for a stay costing up to 110,000 points. This can be done directly online, so it’s quite convenient to use.
