Marriott recently announced its soft landing policy for elite members for 2023. The key point is that if you did not meet the requirements to retain your status in 2022, your elite status in 2023 will only drop by one tier. For example, if you were a Platinum member in 2022 but did not stay enough nights to requalify, you would only be downgraded to Gold in 2023 rather than losing elite status entirely.
