Korean Air Also Being Cut: Marriott to End Transfer Bonuses to AA, DL, and AV, Effective Oct. 31

According to VFTW, Marriott’s transfer bonus for Korean Air SkyPass will also be eliminated on November 30, meaning the usual bonus of 5,000 miles when transferring 20,000 points will disappear as well. Based on how this is unfolding, it seems likely that several partners may end this benefit.

Now we learn that November 30 will be the last day of transfer bonuses to Korean Air SkyPass. It wasn’t just a cost cut on mileage transfers with three programs. It’s unclear whether there will be more.

Today, Marriott quietly added a note about the cancellation of transfer bonuses: starting October 31, 2022, transfers to American AAdvantage, Delta SkyMiles, and Avianca LifeMiles will no longer receive a bonus. Previously, transferring 20,000 points would get you an extra 5,000 miles, but that bonus is now going away. If you’re planning to transfer points, make sure to complete it before then.

Beginning October 31, 2022, the 5,000 bonus points-to-miles incentive with American Airlines will end. However, the everyday benefits you’re accustomed to receiving will continue, and you can still convert points to miles on a 3:1 basis.
