Marriott sent out a mass email to members introducing two new benefits:
Extra Elite Nights
If you were a Marriott elite member in 2019, you can receive extra Elite Night Credits in 2020 to help you qualify for 2020 elite status. Details are shown in the table below. If you have Silver status from a Marriott credit card, you can get 5 extra nights; if you have Gold status from a Platinum-series card, you can get 13 Elite Nights.
On top of that, Marriott credit cards already come with 15 elite nights this year. If you also have the Marriott business version, you can get another 15 nights. With just one more week of stays, you can reach the much more valuable Platinum status (with lounge access, breakfast, and other perks).
Off-Peak Redemptions at 5,000+ Marriott Hotels
- Bookings must be made between June 15 and June 30
- Stays must be completed by July 31
All Members — Our Lowest Redemption RatesTo help you with your exploration, we’ll be putting over 5,500 properties around the world on Off-Peak redemption rates for bookings made during June 15–30 for stay dates through July 31. This means that whether you’re staying close to home or venturing farther, you can get our lowest redemption rates of the year.
Summary
Same old advice: stay safe first, then think about elite status. But if there’s a chance to get something for free, don’t let it go to waste.
