Rakuten has had 3x cashback over the past few days. If you don’t already have a Rakuten account, feel free to sign up through this referral link. The current signup bonus is the best available: get $30 back after signing up and making a qualifying purchase, compared with the usual $10 bonus. The main offer here is for Lifelock. Lifelock is a subscription service focused on identity security, providing consumers with identity theft protection and risk management services. After subscribing, you can receive dark web data breach alerts and freeze your credit report, bank cards, utility accounts, and more. Right now, subscribing to Lifelock through Rakuten earns 90% back (either 90% cash back or 90x Amex MR (Membership Rewards) points).
The requirement is that you do not cancel within 60 days. Also, BofA currently has a Lifelock offer: spend $89.99 and get $20.00 back.
Go to the Lifelock website through Rakuten’s link and choose the basic Lifelock standard membership at the bottom of the page. It costs $8.99 per month; choose annual billing and your total will be $98.90. About three hours after placing the order, I received an email from Rakuten confirming that the subscription tracked, with $89.10 pending. The $20 BofA cashback was also pending. So for one year of the basic plan, the cost is $98.90, with $89.01 back from Rakuten and $20.00 back from BofA, for a net gain of $10.11. If you choose 8901 MR points instead, and value 1 MR at 1.25 cents, your net gain would be $32.36. This deal is a good fit for people who have already done the Lifelock offer on Swagbucks. If you are a new user, the Swagbucks offer is probably better: pay for two months of Lifelock service and get 8000 SB back (worth $80), for a net gain of $62.
If you’re not familiar with Swagbucks, you can refer to this earlier post: Swagbucks + LifeLock = 2 months of free monitoring + money-maker [2020.8 update: 8000 SB offer, net gain of $60].
