About the IKEA Class Action

If you made a purchase at an IKEA store in the U.S. with a credit card (or debit card) between October 18, 2017 and December 31, 2019, you may be eligible to participate in this class action and receive compensation. The total settlement amount is $24.25 million, and after attorney fees are deducted, the remaining amount will be distributed evenly among people who submit claims.

The lawsuit alleges that when IKEA printed receipts, it showed both the first six digits and the last four digits of customers’ card numbers, while FACTA only allows printing the last five digits. IKEA denies that it violated the law, but has agreed to provide this settlement.

Important Dates

The key date is the filing deadline: May 4, 2023. If you object, you must also opt out or send a letter to the court by this date.

How to File a Claim

You can submit a claim at the link below:

If you received a claim number related to this class action, just enter it directly. It is recommended to file online rather than downloading the form and mailing it in.

If you did not receive one, but you did make a purchase at IKEA during that period, you can indicate that you did not receive a claim number and then manually download the claim form. The form requires your personal information as well as the first six and last four digits of the card you used at the time. You can check IKEA’s website or app for electronic receipts to see whether they show the first six and last four digits of your card number. Or you can simply find the card number for the card you used and fill it in.
