In group chats, quite a few people reported successfully calling in to convert a Free Night into points. Depending on the customer service agent and, apparently, how well the conversation goes, the compensation reported has ranged from 5,000, 10,000, 25,000, or even 40,000 points.
However, based on the data points, these compensation points are posted directly as goodwill, and the Free Night itself does not appear to be taken back — it may even still be usable...
