Hyatt’s official WeChat account suddenly posted today that it will stop managing the social-media-famous property Alila Yangshuo Sugar House right away, so it will be gone starting tomorrow. See the Hyatt official update for details.
Why I called it a social-media-famous property? The photo says it all. The announcement is very abrupt, with just a one-day buffer...
From the wording below, even points already redeemed could potentially be canceled.
Hyatt will stop managing Alila Yangshuo Sugar House (hereinafter, “the hotel”) at 11:59 p.m. local time on June 30, 2020. The hotel will no longer be operated as a hotel under Hyatt’s Alila brand, or any other brand under the Hyatt Hotels Corporation. As a result, Hyatt World of Hyatt members will not be able to enjoy Hyatt loyalty program benefits at the hotel from that time onward, including earning member points and redeeming free-room-night stays. For room reservations or points redemptions booked through official Hyatt channels, we will contact guests in a timely manner to make the appropriate arrangements. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the nearest Hyatt Global Service Center.
