Recently, Hilton point devaluations have become increasingly obvious. In just six months, the program has raised award costs again, leaving many loyal members frustrated. Previously, the cap for high-end hotel redemptions was 150,000 points per night. That ceiling has now been raised to 200,000 points, which is a very significant change. Quite a few other upper-midscale and upscale hotels have also been devalued. Unfortunately, that is the downside of a system with no published award chart: members are at its mercy, and prices can be adjusted from time to time.
Below are the latest award prices for some hotels:
- Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal: 190,000 points per night
- Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi: 200,000 points per night
- Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island: 150,000 points per night
Although the devaluation has been significant in the short term, points can still offer meaningful value in some cases. For example, redeeming 200,000 points at Waldorf Astoria Maldives can still be attractive compared with a cash rate of around $3,000 per night.
