One advantage of calling customer service in China is that you do not need to practice your spoken English. They are also less likely to apply the wrong FN, and can prioritize using the one that is closest to expiring. This is also very helpful for family members who are not comfortable with English.

Quick tip: if you run into problems with an airline or hotel, try domestic customer service first. They are often highly capable and pleasant to deal with. If they cannot solve it, then move on to the higher-authority American reps.
