At the beginning of the month, Hertz quietly changed its points chart for redeeming Free Rental awards. The base redemption rate increased from 750 points for one day to 950 points per day, and rates for other vehicle classes also went up by around 27%.
This kind of unannounced award chart change is pretty frustrating. With advance notice, people could at least book ahead and use up their points.
