Google Gemini's free 1-year student offer is back again, and users who claimed it last year can still get it after their free period ends:
Google has reopened the U.S. Google AI Pro free 1-year offer for college students. The official requirements are U.S. college students ages 18–24, and you must pass student identity verification. New users can join, and users who already claimed last year's 2025 student free membership and have since let it expire can also join again.
This free year includes higher Gemini usage limits, 5TB of Google Storage, Gemini Spark, Gemini Omni, and other benefits. You need to add a payment method when claiming it; after the free period ends, it will automatically renew at $19.99/month, so remember to cancel in advance if you do not plan to keep it long term.
Verification is stricter this year and currently goes through SheerID student verification. There are already DP reports that some users were asked to upload proof of enrollment, and others did not pass with an unofficial transcript or tuition receipt, so it is best to prepare enrollment/student documents that your school can verify normally.
If the one-year free membership you claimed last year still has not expired, there is no need to rush and create a new account. This round of the offer can be redeemed through 2026/12/31, so you can wait until your current membership expires and then come back to see whether you can renew it.
