About AARP

AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) is a US advocacy group focused on the interests of people age 50 and older. AARP offers many useful benefits, such as restaurant discounts, travel discounts, cell phone plan discounts, and more. You only need to join AARP to access these perks. In fact, AARP membership does not have an age restriction for joining — you only need to be at least 13 years old. If any of these benefits are useful to you, it can absolutely be worth signing up. Of course, for perks at certain merchants that do have age requirements, there is no need to bother with those. For more about AARP, see our previous post:

AARP Sign-Up

Currently, if you sign up for an AARP membership through TopCashback, it only costs $12 per year (regular price is $16 per year), and you can also get $12.6 cashback. That makes the membership essentially free.

You may even be able to get a free usb hub or organizer pouch. We recommend turning off auto renew after signing up. If you still need it next year, you can consider using a new email address and doing it again.

You can combine this deal with a Chase AARP offer to come out $8 ahead. Note that the system defaults to automatic renewal. If you do not want to keep the membership long term, we recommend logging into your account and canceling auto renew after the cashback posts.
