Flying Blue has recently undergone another mileage devaluation, with partner-airline award prices rising sharply. On some routes, prices have increased by as much as 100%! According to reports on Flyertalk, Flying Blue has significantly raised the miles required for short-haul flights. One-way economy awards have doubled from 5,000 miles to 10,000 miles, while business class has increased from 10,000 miles to 20,000 miles. This affects a number of key routes, including:
- Domestic flights within Australia
- Domestic flights within Indonesia
- Intra-Asia Pacific flights
- Intra-Europe flights
In addition, some other award tickets have also gone up, with increases ranging from 5% to 50%. For example:
- Delta in the US, New York to Toronto: economy increased from 7,000 miles to 10,000 miles, and business class increased from 18,000 miles to 20,000 miles
- Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi to Seoul: economy increased from 26,000 to 28,000, and business class increased from 51,500 to 55,000
- EL AL, London to Tel Aviv: economy increased from 25,000 to 25,500, and business class increased from 50,000 to 56,000
