With the recent Double 12 promotions, the Fantuan delivery App has been offering all kinds of deep discounts that have everyone going wild ordering takeout. On top of that, new users can currently get $25 off through a refer link, so I’ve managed to get more and more friends around me hooked on ordering delivery.
Using Boston as an example, one recent promotion was: “When food lovers meet Fantuan Double 12 deals as low as 29% of the original price: from December 11 to December 20, 10 straight days of big offers every day.” For details, search WeChat for your local city name + “Fantuan” and follow the official account article.

Fantuan Overview and Services
The following introduction is quoted from Baidu Baike: Fantuan Delivery is a Canadian Asian food delivery brand that provides North American consumers with on-demand delivery services across categories including restaurant meals, fresh fruit and produce, groceries, and convenience items. Founded in 2014, its headquarters is located in Vancouver, Canada. Fantuan’s homepage tagline says: “Available in more than 24 cities, with more than 760,000 users, it is the largest Asian food delivery platform in North America. A team of more than 8,700 delivery drivers helps ensure delivery efficiency.” Based on my own experience using it several times, Fantuan really is quite fast with deliveries.
Ordering process: enter your delivery location — choose the restaurant you want — place your order in the App — the restaurant accepts the order — a Fantuan delivery driver delivers the food (the drivers I ran into several times in Seattle were all ethnically Chinese) — receive your order, and the order is complete
During the pandemic, you can leave a note when ordering to request contactless delivery. The driver will generally leave it directly at your door or on the first floor of your apartment building.
After each order is placed, you can also share delivery vouchers to WeChat or Moments (each share is limited to 10 claims). Each shared link issues a random red packet discount in the order claimed, up to $7. Each person has 2 chances per day to claim vouchers. These vouchers can be stacked with special menu-item deals, but cannot be combined with other types of coupons.
Fantuan Services
Fantuan’s services include: all kinds of restaurants, fresh groceries, and general merchandise
Fantuan order types: delivery, pickup, and errand purchasing (pickup/drop-off, buy for me — this feature seems to still be in testing, since it’s blank when you tap into it)
Fantuan Payment Methods
Fantuan supports Visa/Master/Debit/Alipay/WeChat Pay/cash.
