【Saving】They’ve boosted the APY on the Savings account to 4% for six months (then 3.25%), and if you deposit $20,000 within 30 days of opening, you can get an extra $400 bonus! Overall, this looks pretty good. Offer expires September 30

The three-step requirements are as follows

  1. Open a new Premium Savings Account on etrade.com by 9/40/2026 using promo code SAVING26.
  2. Add funds to earn a boosted 4.00% APY for 6 months. Plus, you'll earn a cash bonus when you deposit at least $20,000 of qualifying new money within the first 30 days of account opening.
  3. Maintain your balance for 45 additional days after the 30-day funding period ends to earn your cash bonus.

This bonus is really good, so I’ve added it to the bank bonus rankings

[Investment Account] They’re now offering up to a $10,000 bonus for the brokerage account, which requires depositing a specified amount within 60 days of opening to qualify. The offer ends June 30, 2026. The terms say the bonus will be paid within 7 business days after the 60-day deposit period. It looks like, if you time it well, you only need to keep the money in for 67 days, but it’s probably better to wait until the bonus posts before moving it out.

The bonus tiers are listed below. Although the ad says the maximum bonus is $1,500, you can get up to $10,000 if you deposit more money. For a brokerage account, once your money is in, you can buy some money market funds and earn a decent yield, so it’s not a bad deal. The direct returns for each tier are 5%, 3%, 1.5%, 0.6%, and so on. Considering you don’t actually need to leave the money in for that long, it’s pretty worthwhile. Here are the annualized returns by tier:

  • $1,000: 27.24%
  • $5,000: 16.34%
  • $20,000: 8.17%
  • $100,000: 3.27%
  • $200,000: 2.72%
  • $500,000: 1.63%
  • $1,000,000: 1.63%(actually the same as $500,000)
  • $1,500,000: 1.82%
  • $2,000,000: 1.63%
  • $5,000,000: 1.09%

I’ve added it to the high-yield bonus account rankings.

About E*Trade

E*Trade is a leading U.S. online brokerage that was acquired by Morgan Stanley in 2020, further strengthening its capital base and product lineup. The company offers a full range of financial services, including $0-commission trading in stocks, exchange-traded funds, and options, as well as a wide selection of commission-free mutual funds and futures trading. E*Trade also has a banking division that offers high-yield savings and checking accounts, and it supports retirement and education savings accounts, creating an all-in-one financial platform that combines investing and banking.

Compared with Morgan Stanley, their products are more geared toward everyday individual investors and don’t have monthly account or management fees, so it’s a pretty good one to open. You can also use this account to open the AMEX Morgan Stanley Platinum, which is still somewhat valuable

They offer solid bonuses on both the brokerage and banking accounts, so I’m covering them here as well.

Fees

This account has no monthly fee or management fee. Trading-related fees are as follows

Checking Account

Sign-up bonus

They’re now offering up to a $300 bonus for the checking account. To qualify, you need two direct deposits totaling more than $1,500 within 90 days of opening. The offer ends May 31, 2026.

Note that if you open the regular no-monthly-fee checking account, it only pays a very low interest rate. That 2% APY requires the $15/month Max-Rate Checking. I don’t think it’s worth it—just open the fee-free version. There are plenty of better bank accounts that offer rates above 2%.

Besides payroll counting as direct deposit, there are other ways to make it count. Based on DOC data points, the following all count. I suspect brokerage withdrawals should work too

  • Fidelity:1,
  • ING Direct/Capital One 360 (1,2)
  • TreasuryDirect:1,

There are two checking accounts, as follows
