Etihad Airlines is once again running a transfer bonus promotion: from now through March 31, 2025, you can transfer points from various hotel and bank programs to Etihad Guest miles and receive up to a 40% bonus!
For us, the relevant bank and hotel points programs include:
- Capital One: Points transfer to Etihad Guest miles at a 1:1 ratio, which means every 1 Capital One point transferred becomes 1.4 Etihad miles with the bonus.
- World of Hyatt: Hyatt points transfer at a 2.5:1 ratio, so during this promotion, every 2.5 Hyatt points can become 1.4 Etihad miles. Not a very good deal.
- Accor Hotels: Normally, 4,000 reward points convert to 2,000 Etihad Guest miles, but during this promotion you can get as many as 2,800 miles.
The bonus depends on how many miles you transfer:
- Transfer 9,999 points or fewer and receive a 20% bonus.
- Transfer 10,000 to 49,999 points and receive a 30% bonus.
- Transfer 50,000 points or more and receive a 40% bonus.
Etihad Guest also has a fairly straightforward mileage expiration policy: miles for regular members are valid for 18 months, and qualifying activity can extend their validity. For Platinum members, miles never expire.
After the Etihad Guest program changes, there are a lot fewer sweet spots than before. But if you need short-haul flights within the U.S. of under 500 miles, redeeming just 6,000 Etihad Guest miles can still be a very good deal.

- Once a transfer is initiated, it cannot be reversed.
- Be sure to provide your Etihad Guest membership number when making the transfer.
- Transfers must be completed by midnight UTC+4 on March 31, 2025.
