About the Enfamil Class Action

Enfamil formula from Mead Johnson is very common in the U.S. and is a popular choice for many parents. Recently, the company was hit with a class action lawsuit over allegations that certain products were misleading about the total number of prepared bottles or servings they could make. Of course, the company does not admit these allegations, but it has agreed going forward to state this information more accurately. To avoid further impact and ongoing litigation, it agreed to a settlement.

The lawsuit claims that Mead Johnson & Company, LLC (the maker of Enfamil brand Products) (“Defendant”) deceptively packaged and labeled certain Enfamil brand formula Products as being able to make a specific number of liquid ounce bottles of formula. Mead Johnson denies these allegations and asserts that its Labeling and marketing is truthful but has settled this case to avoid further litigation and distraction of resources from its business.

Fortunately, this is not a formula safety issue, or it could have triggered another formula shortage.

Who Is Covered

Dates and eligibility: Individuals who purchased the products listed below between 2017.1.1 and 2022.6.23 are covered (excluding purchases for resell), and they must live in the United States.

Payout details

  • Without proof of purchase: $3 per can, up to $15 per household
  • With proof of purchase: $3 per can, up to $45 per household

Important Dates

  • You must submit a claim by October 31, 2022
  • See the table below for deadlines to exclude yourself or for the hearing

How to File

  • Select the Registration Form on the right. This settlement is a bit unusual because you need to fill out the form first to get an ID before you can submit a claim.
  • After you receive your ID, go to Submit Claim and continue from there.
