According to Reddit, after many users complained that eBay suddenly banned using eBay gift cards to buy gift cards from other merchants, eBay has started contacting users and says it will allow a one-month window for purchasing gift cards.

From September 13 to October 13, eBay gift cards can be used on eBay to buy other gift cards, including the (recently compromised) PPDG. However, there is no indication that the $2,000 value cap tied to the 60-day usage rule for eBay gift cards will be relaxed. If you’re holding a large stash of eBay gift cards, this is a good opportunity to exit your gift-card stack. Don’t miss it.
