You can actually earn AAdvantage miles instead of hotel points on IHG stays—just change your selection in points preference. And this offer makes that option even better: IHG One Rewards has launched a new promotion in which members can earn up to 15,000 bonus miles on IHG stays of 2 nights or more.
Through November 15, 2024, you can earn an extra 1,000 AAdvantage miles when you stay 2 or more nights at IHG. This offer is capped at 15,000 miles, meaning you can benefit on up to 15 stays. To earn these bonus miles, members must go to the preferences section of their IHG account, choose “Airline Miles” under earning preferences, and then select American Airlines AAdvantage as the preferred airline program. The bonus miles are awarded on top of the base miles earned during your IHG stay. When American Airlines AAdvantage miles are selected as your earning preference, members earn 2 miles per $1 spent at all brands except Candlewood Suites, Staybridge Suites, and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas; at Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites, members earn 1 mile per $1 spent. However, members cannot double dip on IHG earnings—you can earn either IHG points or airline miles, but not both.
