I received a promotional email from Discover offering an extra 2% cashback on all purchases, up to $2,000 in spending, for a maximum of $40 back. It looks like the link provided is a direct activation link and probably can't be used universally. You may want to check whether you received a similar email too, since free extra cashback is always nice.
