Delta and the Seattle Seahawks’ 12Status promotion is back, and it will continue to award SkyMiles for free during the 2026-2027 season.

The rules are simple: if you are a Washington state resident, once you register for 12Status, you’ll earn 1 Delta SkyMile for every 1 passing yard the Seattle Seahawks gain over the course of the season. No flying required and no spending required—you basically just register and wait for the miles to post.

If you participated before, you’ll need to register again for this season. It’s best to complete registration before the regular season begins on September 9, because miles start accruing only after you register.

How many miles can you earn in a year?

This promotion actually gives out quite a bit.

According to Delta, more than 129,000 people participated in the 2025-2026 season, and more than 535 million SkyMiles were awarded in total.

That works out to an average of about 4,100 miles per participant. Of course, some people may not have registered until midseason, so those who joined from the first game may have earned even more.

For a completely free promotion, I think that’s pretty good.

Two additional perks

In addition to earning miles for every passing yard, 12Status members also get two pretty useful perks during the season:

  • When flying Delta out of Seattle SEA airport, you can board with Zone 5 priority boarding
  • During the 2026-2027 season, enjoy 12% off purchases on the 12th of each month at select Seattle Seahawks Pro Shop locations

Delta will also offer Seahawks game-related experiences through SkyMiles Experiences this year, including game-day VIP access and player meet-and-greets.

My take

If you live in Washington state, there’s really nothing to think about here—just register.

There’s no spending requirement, and you don’t need a Delta credit card. A normal Seahawks season racks up a few thousand passing yards, which is basically like earning a few thousand Delta SkyMiles for free each year.

And this isn’t the first time they’ve done it. Since 2016, 12Status has awarded more than 2.4 billion Delta SkyMiles, so this isn’t one of those small promotions where you wonder whether the points will ever post.

The only thing to watch is that this promotion is open only to Washington state residents, and the 12Status website also verifies your access location. You can try using a VPN, and you may also need to change the state in your Delta profile.
