The once-a-year Daily Getaways travel deals program has finally announced that it is shutting down. The program used to offer consumers exclusive travel deals of up to 50% off, including loyalty points, hotel stays, gift cards, and more, so the discounts were actually pretty good. In the past, offers such as Hyatt points, Fairmont hotel packages, and Marriott points were quite popular and often drew a lot of buyers. Personally, though, I think hotels now have plenty of convenient marketing channels, so there is no real need to keep using this old-fashioned group-promotion approach anymore.
