[Updated 2022.7] Week 2 is underway. The best deal is Hyatt points on the 29th, and the 20%-off Marriott gift cards on the 27th are also pretty solid. If you want in, set your alarm and be ready to buy as soon as sales open.

About the Daily Getaway Promotion

Daily Getaway is a travel promotion organized by the U.S. Travel Association, bringing together major rental car companies and hotel groups. This year’s Daily Getaway starts on July 18, and the promo lineup for the first two weeks has already been released. Based on past years, Daily Getaway really does feature some eye-popping deals, such as Hyatt points sold at around 1.2c/p. Of course, the best offers also sell out incredibly fast. Below is a quick rundown of the deals that have been announced so far. Each day’s sale starts at 1:00 PM Eastern, and the best offers usually have very limited quantities, so you’ll need to be quick.

Week 1

Here’s our take on Week 1. Overall, there’s not much that stands out, so unless you have a very specific need, you can probably pass.

  • Day 1 offered IHG points at 0.5c each, but since IHG frequently runs 100% bonus point sales, there’s no real rush to jump on this one.
  • The Accor hotel stay package could be decent if you can use it, but it doesn’t offer broad appeal.
  • Hilton points at 0.5c each are not especially compelling, since their redemption value is only around 0.3-0.5 cents per point.
  • Wyndham and BW are less commonly used by our readers, so we wouldn’t recommend forcing a purchase here.

Week 2

Week 2 is a bit better. The Marriott 20%-off e-gift cards are worth considering if you have an immediate use for them, and the quantities are fairly decent. You can choose whichever denomination you want to try for, and each denomination has its own separate inventory.

Hyatt points are clearly the main event: $960 for 80,000 Hyatt points. We value Hyatt points at around 1.6 cents each, so this is a very good deal. The only problem is the quantity: just 8 packages... That said, there are three package sizes in total, so you can pick one and give it a shot. Usually the smaller packages are a little easier to grab.

Later Weeks

These promotions usually run 4-5 weeks in total, and the remaining weeks haven’t been released yet. We’ll update the post when more details are available.
