According to a DP from WeChat reader Wangbo, recharging the China Telecom Americas Card with an AMEX credit card that has the AMEX Shop Small offer added can trigger the Credit. You can load $10 each time and get $5 back. A 50% discount on phone top-ups is pretty good.

The biggest feature of the China Telecom Americas Card is that it lets you call mainland China numbers directly for free (using the built-in China Telecom virtual number and automatic call forwarding). This is especially useful when you have elderly family members at home who don’t use WeChat. In addition, you can receive the SIM card while still in China and start using it as soon as you arrive in the US. Overall, it does have some unique features.
