Visa announced a promotion early today for eligible Mainland China Visa credit cards: make three Uber or Uber Eats purchases of $15 each per week (likely based on the posted transaction amount) and get $10 back. The promotion runs from July 18 through September 26, for a total of 10 weeks. That means you can earn up to $100 back in total. In addition, Uber is not limited to the U.S.; eligible Uber purchases made outside the U.S. should also count.
If you already use Uber or Uber Eats, this is a pretty good deal. It can also be stacked with overseas online spending cashback offers from Chinese credit cards, potentially up to 10%. Even if you do not have an immediate need, this promo is still something you can take advantage of, and it can be done even if you are in China.
Participating banks and eligible cards are as follows:
This partnership is still a bit puzzling. First, you cannot register for Uber with a China phone number; second, from a marketing perspective, this promotion feels like something that was prepared last year, since not many people were traveling to the U.S. at this time...
