Chase Ultimate Rewards is currently offering a 30% bonus when you transfer points to Aeroplan, for a 1:1.3 ratio, expiring on November 30; and a 40% bonus when you transfer to Marriott points, for a 1:1.4 ratio, expiring on December 20. Just log in to your own UR account, and you should see the bonus on the points transfer page.
This is the first time we’ve seen a bonus for AC miles, but it’s still a good idea to check the award pricing for the route you need before deciding whether to transfer. UR to AC transfers are instant, so there’s no need to rush the decision right away; it’s best to wait until you’re ready to book before transferring. Also, if you have the Chase Aeroplan co-branded credit card, you can stack another 10% bonus on top, which is pretty nice.
The Marriott bonus is less compelling. The highest we’ve seen before was 50%, so this is really only worth considering if you specifically need Marriott points, especially when you’re just a little short for a stay-four-get-one-free redemption. We would not recommend transferring speculatively just to stockpile points.
