Expired: Chase Ultimate Rewards Transfer Bonus: Aeroplan, Flying Blue, and IHG, Up to 70% Bonus

Chase has launched another round of transfer bonuses. From now through January 15, 2025, you can get a 20% bonus when transferring UR points to Air Canada Aeroplan or Flying Blue, for a final transfer ratio of 1:1.2. Transfers to IHG come with a 70% bonus, for a final ratio of 1:1.7. Here’s our take:

First, IHG is not worth it. IHG points are only worth about 0.5 cpp to begin with, so even with this bonus, your UR points are only getting about 0.85 cpp in value, which is still worse than cashing out at 1 cpp. As for airline miles, a transfer can be worthwhile if you have a good use for them, but this 20% bonus is not attractive enough to speculatively stockpile miles. It’s best to search for award space first and only transfer if you find a good redemption.

Note that if you have an Aeroplan credit card, you already get an extra 10% bonus. Combined with this promotion, the final transfer ratio becomes 1:1.3.
