Chase will launch a new website to centrally display credit card benefits, and the site will officially go live on October 1. At that point, all benefits and the specific steps to claim them will be handled through this website, which should make things much more convenient overall.
You can see that the site is divided into three sections: travel, shopping, and cell phone-related benefits. It is fairly clear. In addition, starting in October 2024, Chase will update its travel and shopping insurance benefits as the issuer transitions to Assurant. Chase also announced several changes to these protections. For example:
- Auto rental collision damage waiver coverage will expand to cover more vehicles. Cardholders will receive up to $60,000 in coverage for eligible vehicles with a retail value of $125,000 or less. The notification period will also be extended from 60 days to 100 days.
- Emergency evacuation and transportation will be arranged and provided by the service provider, so cardholders will no longer need to pay upfront and then file a claim for reimbursement.
- Travel and emergency assistance will be added to certain products. If a cardholder runs into problems while traveling away from home, this benefit will provide legal and medical referrals as well as other travel and emergency assistance services.
- Travel accident insurance coverage will increase from $250,000 to $500,000 for certain products.
- Baggage loss reimbursement will be added to certain products, covering the cost to repair or replace lost or damaged checked or carry-on baggage.
- Extended warranty protection will be updated for certain products, increasing coverage from $10,000 per claim to up to $50,000 per year.
- The United Gateway card’s trip cancellation and interruption insurance will be updated, expanding covered family members and protections.
