About This Offer
Chase is offering all three Southwest personal cards — Southwest Plus, Premier, and Priority — with a welcome bonus of 30,000 points plus a 1-year Companion Pass. The spending requirement is the same on all three cards: $4,000 in the first 3 months. The Companion Pass you earn is valid through February 18, 2026. In other words, once you earn it, whether you book with points or cash, you can bring one companion with you on each flight. This offer ends on March 31, 2025.

Which One Should You Pick?
The three cards are fairly similar, with the benefits increasing step by step as you move up the lineup. My suggestion: if you fly Southwest a few times a year, go with the Priority; if you just want the welcome bonus, go with the Plus. The main reason is that when you factor in the annual fee, the yearly points, and the annual credits, the difference is not that large. If you live in a Southwest hub and fly the airline often, the Priority is actually a pretty good fit.
Companion Pass
This welcome bonus includes one of the most useful perks for traveling as a pair on Southwest: the Companion Pass (CP). Once you have CP, both paid tickets and award tickets on Southwest effectively become buy one, get one, making it especially valuable for two-person travel. Without using credit card bonuses, CP is actually fairly hard to earn: you need to earn 135,000 Southwest points in a calendar year, or fly 100 qualifying one-way flights. For more on CP, see:
In the past, welcome offers usually only gave points, and you often had to apply for both a personal card and a business card to earn enough for CP. This time, the offer gives you a full year of CP directly. Even the lowest-annual-fee Southwest Plus qualifies, which makes this a very strong deal.
