Since its launch, the Sapphire Reserve card has offered a 100,000-point UR welcome bonus, drawing huge numbers of people to apply. But all good things come to an end. The Points Guy, which has long had a close relationship with Chase, has learned that the 100,000 UR online welcome bonus for the Sapphire Reserve will soon be discontinued.
Welcome Bonus Changes
- Starting January 12, the online Sapphire Reserve welcome bonus will drop from 100,000 UR to 50,000 UR;
- Starting March 12, the Sapphire Reserve welcome bonus for applications made at Chase bank branches will drop from 100,000 UR to 50,000 UR;
If you’ve been thinking about applying for the Chase Sapphire Reserve but haven’t pulled the trigger yet, it’s a good idea to move quickly. Chase could always change its mind and cut the bonus earlier than expected.
