Today, Chase shared another update on the progress of Sapphire Lounge by The Club. New York, Boston, and Hong Kong will be the first three lounge locations to open. At the same time, Chase also revealed the access rules for its own lounges. Details are below.

The upcoming lounge locations are:

  • New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in the brand new Terminal B,
  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) Terminal B to C Connector,
  • and later this year, a first international location in Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) Terminal 1.（opening later this year）

The current access rules are:

  • Cardholders of Chase’s premium card, Sapphire Reserve, will have access
  • Priority Pass members can also enter (basically most premium cards include this membership, so it looks like these lounges may become overcrowded too)

According to Chase’s official announcement, Chase is preparing to build Sapphire Lounge® by The Club lounges at select airports, offering drinks and seating areas. However, it looks like these will first open in the U.S., while international locations may still use the partnership model with Priority Pass. My guess is that Sapphire Preferred may eventually offer a few complimentary lounge passes, while Sapphire Reserve will likely come with direct access to these lounges plus guest privileges.

Overall, Chase has taken another step toward attracting premium travelers, and AMEX will probably continue losing market share.

NEW YORK, NY —June 3, 2021—JPMorgan Chase will introduce travelers to a new airport lounge: Chase Sapphire Lounge® by The Club. This entry will bring to life key aspects of the travel journey and offer a fresh approach to the lounge experience with locations to be announced in select markets over time.

JPMorgan Chase is bringing these lounges to its customers in collaboration with the industry experts in global airport lounges and experiences, Airport Dimensions.

For more than a decade, Chase Sapphire has activated lounges across the country at marquee events, serving as hubs for unique access at culinary, entertainment and cultural experiences. That same inspiration will come to life in airports, providing access to exceptional, authentic and regionally inspired food, drink, art, entertainment, and wellness.


In addition, according to VFTW, the space between Boston’s TB and TC will be the first Chase lounge.

The first location will be in Boston in the Terminal B-C connector and span 12,000 square feet offering “showers, a family room, a business lounge and rest and wellness areas.”
