Chase has now added a line of fine print under the referral links for most of its credit cards. In plain English, it means that if 10 or more friends apply through your link, Chase may decide that you will not receive any referral bonus.

What’s the logic behind this? A lot of people have been posting referral links on social media, where many others click and apply, allowing them to max out the referral bonus. Normally, referrals are just shared with friends, so it’s uncommon to have 10 or more people apply. No matter how you look at it, though, Chase is clearly tightening up its referral rules. If this applies to you, pay attention.

If 10 or more of your friends use the referral URL within a month to apply, at Chase's discretion you may not receive any bonus points for the friends who apply that month and are approved for the card.

I checked and found that this language appears on the referral pages for all cards except the Chase Freedom family.
