【2021.3 Update】According to Yahoo Finance, Chase Pay will shut down completely, including its existing third-party payment platform integrations. Banks have spent quite a bit of money trying to promote all kinds of different pay products. For example, AMEX checkout, Visa Check out, and master check out all ran plenty of promos to attract new users, but in the end none of them seemed able to compete with PayPal. At this point, Apple Pay is pretty much the only one left with meaningful market share, thanks to its integration across both online and offline payments and the Apple ecosystem.

【2020.2 Update】According to Chase, the Chase Pay app will be shut down soon.

We’re closing the Chase Pay app in early 2020. You’ll still find Chase Pay® as a payment option in more of your favorite websites and apps…Keep using the Chase Pay app until early 2020. After that, you can still use Chase Pay when you:
• Shop online or in merchant apps. Look for the Chase Pay button for fast, secure checkout.
• Pay at the pump when you select Chase Pay as the payment method in the Shell, My Phillips 66®, My Conoco®, My76® or Gulf Pay apps.

Previously, this app occasionally offered some food delivery credit, so it was at least somewhat useful. You may want to log in one last time and see whether you still have any food delivery credit available.

As for payments on third-party websites, Chase Pay still exists there.

The difference versus paying directly with a credit card is that, at checkout, you log in to your Chase account and select the corresponding credit card, without needing to enter the card number. There are usually some small perks or deals available.

Atom Ticket previously offered quite a few almost-free movie tickets through it.

Overall, in third-party payments, aside from a few giants, everyone else is basically a minor player. Master Pass and Visa Check Out have already shut down one after another. AMEX Pay and Google Pay also have not had many new promotions lately. You could say the earlier marketing spend was largely wasted.
