Chase will automatically extend the card spending period for credit cards applied for between January 1 and March 31 to six months. Cards applied for at other times can be extended if you contact Chase yourself and request it! (HT. M2M)

According to M2M’s report, Chase may also extend your card spending deadline if you send a Secure Message. If you just applied for a Chase card, you can try sending an SM. Note that there has been no official announcement, so it may not always work. If you really need it, try sending a few more messages.
