Today, when I logged in to Chase, I saw an offer on a Marriott card: upgrade the $89 annual-fee card to Bountiful and get a 5,000-point bonus. My recommendation is: definitely do not upgrade! Bountiful only gives you a free night certificate after heavy spending, while the original card gives you a free night certificate just for holding the card. That’s much better. I think Chase should raise the upgrade bonus to 50,000 and see whether anyone bites.
