According to DOC and 10x Travel, Chase is getting ready to launch a new business credit card: Ink Business Premier. Rumor has it that it may debut in late November or sometime in December, and the benefits should be geared more toward higher spending, with more premium perks.
- Anticipated release date is November 30th or later
- Premium benefits for larger businesses with higher spending needs
- Increased spending power with more opportunities to earn points
- Metal Card
Personally, I think this will likely be a more premium business credit card, with benefits and cash back that are better than the current Chase Ink Preferred. After all, AMEX business cards now have annual fees as high as $695, while Chase’s own business cards still only charge a $95 annual fee, which really does not seem very competitive. That said, the name “Premier” does not sound quite powerful enough, so this may end up being just an upper-mid-tier card rather than a true top-tier product. For reference, cards like Southwest Premier and Citi Premier are not their issuers’ flagship cards either. Here are my own guesses on what the card might look like:
- Annual fee: $195
- Welcome bonus: 120,000 Ultimate Rewards
- Earn 4x in the top 3 spending categories among travel, office supplies, internet and cell phone services, gas, advertising, etc.; 1x on everything else
- Spend $15,000 annually and receive an extra 10,000 points
- Complimentary PPS and access to Chase’s own club lounges
