According to internal Chase materials, this card is very likely meant as a starter card for people with very limited credit history. It also seems to specifically mention applying in a local branch. In any case, the welcome bonus probably won’t be very high.
According to DOC, Chase filed two trademark applications: Chase Freedom Rise and Freedom Rise. In general, this is often a sign that a new card may be on the way, with the trademarks being protected in advance. Based on Chase’s current product lineup, things are already fairly complete, so I wonder whether Chase Slate might eventually be folded into the Freedom family. We’ll have to wait and see.
