The current sign-up bonus is $80, but there is now a spending requirement. You need to make at least $10 in purchases through Capital One Shopping within 60 days, which should be easy if you have something to buy. The old-version link still seems to work, but it is unclear whether you can still receive the bonus. I recommend using the new version.

The sign-up bonus is $80. Under the old version, the requirement was to install their browser extension within 7 days, then use it from time to time within 90 days and not delete it. There did not seem to be a firm spending requirement. The bonus is issued at the 120-day mark (I tried it myself and have already received the bonus). If you are outside the U.S., pay attention to your IP address, especially when redeeming rewards.

For either the Referrer or Refer-ee to be eligible for a referral bonus, the Refer-ee must in their primary browser with full permissions, and on a device in which the extension has never previously been installed. The Refer-ee must of creating a Shopping User Account using a referral link. The Refer-ee must then regularly use the Shopping extension and shop as they normally would, on their primary browser and following the installation date. The referral bonus will be automatically applied to the relevant accounts within . Uninstalling the Shopping extension or changing its permissions at any time during the trial period will prevent both the Referrer and Refer-ee from receiving a referral bonus.

About Capital One Shopping

Capital One Shopping is a shopping rewards site acquired by Capital One. It was formerly known as Wikibuy, and originally offered shopping rewards and price protection services. It is both a rewards site and a browser extension. Despite the name, Capital One Shopping has nothing to do with Capital One bank accounts or credit cards, and you do not need to have a related credit card or bank account. The rewards you earn are used directly within this rewards account; they will not be deposited into a credit card or bank account. In short, just treat it like a normal shopping portal.

It is worth noting that they often offer very high new-user sign-up bonuses. They have previously offered $75, $150, and $200 bonuses — very generous indeed!

Basic Features

Earning Rewards

To earn rewards, search for the merchant on their homepage and then go to that merchant’s page. You will be able to see the rewards rate there.

Click Activate directly, and you will be redirected to the merchant. Then complete your purchase as usual, and Capital One Shopping will issue rewards based on the category of the items purchased.

Extension Notifications

If you have installed the browser extension, it will automatically remind you how much rewards a store offers when you visit the merchant’s site. For example, it will show a prompt when you visit marriott.com. Remember to click Activate.

You can also set when the extension pops up in your account notifications. By default, it appears on the checkout page or the merchant page.

Tracking

You can view your click history in your account. If your rewards do not track, you can contact customer service using the trip number shown there.

Tracked rewards will appear under My Rewards and Savings.

Redeeming Rewards

This part is somewhat limited. At the moment, the rewards you earn, including the sign-up bonus, can only be redeemed for select gift cards, and the list can change. Redemptions start at $10 and go up to $500. Walmart gift cards used to be available, but they are temporarily no longer listed. If you are not in a hurry, you can wait until a useful gift card becomes available before redeeming.

After redemption, gift cards are generally sent immediately, though sometimes there is a 1–3 day wait. There are also online data points of gift cards never being sent after redemption, so just keep that in mind.

Referral Feature

They often offer fairly high referral bonuses, though it seems that each user may receive different offers. Try to pick the higher offers to send to friends. If you just registered, you may not have this referral page yet; you may need to make any purchase first to activate this feature.

The rewards you earn are also added to this account. They can only be redeemed for gift cards and cannot be cashed out directly.
