Today, British Airways officially announced that it is retiring its former Executive Club and rebranding its loyalty program as "The British Airways Club." It also used the occasion to introduce new ways to qualify for status and new milestone rewards.
The new loyalty program will go live on April 1. Since 2023, British Airways has been awarding Avios based on spend, and there will also be major changes to how Tier Points are earned. In the future, members will be able to earn Tier Points not only from flying, but also through credit-card spend, seat bookings, baggage fees, and other activities, with 1 Tier Point earned for every 1 pound spent. The new program has higher status qualification levels:
- - British Airways Club Bronze: 3,500 Tier Points
- - British Airways Club Silver: 7,500 Tier Points
- - British Airways Club Gold: 20,000 Tier Points
- - British Airways Club Gold Guest List: 65,000 Tier Points (at least 52,000 must be earned through BA flights, add-ons, and British Airways Holidays)
In addition to flights, members can earn Tier Points in these ways:
- SAF donation: Donations can earn Tier Points, with up to 1,000 Tier Points per year and no annual limit on frequency.
- British Airways Holidays package: Unlimited Tier Points can be earned. Counting the total package price can make it easier to reach higher membership tiers with fewer trips.
- Credit card spend: Cardholders can earn up to 2,500 Tier Points on qualifying spend; details will be released in 2025.
In addition, British Airways will roll out more tier-milestone rewards, encouraging members to unlock extra benefits before reaching the next tier, such as bonus Avios between Bronze and Silver.
