【2019.7 Update】Boxed.com has another AMEX Offer right now, so it’s possible to stack multiple discounts. There are a few things worth noting, though. Also, you can now upload your refer link; if someone successfully signs up through it, you can earn a $15 Credit. See the end of this post for instructions.

  • Boxed.com new users: $15 off $60: You need to register through a referral link. Feel free to use any refer link uploaded by readers, and you can also upload your own boxed refer below (at the end of this post).
  • AMEX Offer: spend $75, get $20 back: Your final amount charged to your AMEX card must be more than $75.

Boxed.com is an online wholesale store that mainly sells snacks, household goods, baby products, toiletries, and other everyday essentials. The site focuses on bulk-size items, and prices are generally comparable to wholesale clubs like Costco and Sam's Club. Unlike other wholesale stores, boxed.com is online only and has no physical locations. Orders are shipped via UPS and usually arrive within 2-3 business days, which is very convenient.

One of the biggest advantages of this site is that it frequently runs promotions, so you can often buy things very cheaply. About the Boxed UP Membership

It looks like the previous partnership with AMEX has ended. Now boxed has introduced a boxed up membership. It’s somewhat similar to Amazon Prime, with a $49 annual fee. After becoming a boxed up member, you get free shipping on orders of $19.99 or more, plus 2% cashback on purchases. If you shop at boxed regularly, this membership may be worth considering. It also pairs nicely with the AMEX Gold card’s monthly $10 credit.

  • About Ibotta: Ibotta is an APP where you upload in-store shopping receipts to get cashback. It has recently launched a shopping portal feature that also offers cashback for online purchases at merchants like Boxed.com.
  • How to get cashback: 1. Ibotta APP registration link. 2. Find boxed.com inside Ibotta, then use the link in the Ibotta APP to install the boxed.com APP. 3. On the boxed.com page in Ibotta, click Lauch App 4. Shop in the APP and cashback should track automatically. If you already have the boxed.com APP installed on your phone, it’s best to delete it first and reinstall it through Ibotta.

【7/21 Update】Some readers have reported that Ibotta now restricts boxed.com purchases: if you use a discount code, you may no longer receive Ibotta cashback. It’s still probably best to use the new-user promo code and go through Ibotta anyway, and whether it tracks or not is up to luck...

I personally placed an order using the Ibotta process. Right after I submitted the order in the APP, Ibotta showed the cashback as pending. I bought $92 worth of items, and $14 showed as pending; I’ve already received it now. I also activated Ibotta’s $2 rebate in the APP. If you don’t like using it at the designated restaurants, using it at boxed is also a pretty good option—don’t let it go to waste.

Some things worth buying

  • Horizon milk: I’ve tried several flavors and they were all pretty good. Very convenient to grab and drink.
  • Pork jerky: Korean-style pork jerky, pretty similar to the kind in China, and it tastes good.
  • Mixed nuts: Good value, with a pleasantly salty taste.
  • Nishiki rice: It’s a lot of work for the delivery driver, but not having to buy and carry rice yourself is nice.
  • Tide Pods: Very convenient—just use one each time.
  • Forever stamps: Stamps usually aren’t discounted in most places, but they can be here (especially when stacked with various promos).
  • Baby diapers and more: Getting these at around 30% of the price is great. They’re essentials and easy to stock up on.
