Bilt has added yet another set of restrictions on earning points. Going forward, paying taxes, buying gift cards, secondhand transactions, cash equivalents, and similar purchases will no longer earn points. As for what does or does not qualify, Bilt gets to decide. That’s pretty petty. Plenty of cards exist, and I can’t recall any of them explicitly saying that tax payments won’t earn points. Chase Freedom Flex has even run promos encouraging people to pay taxes to earn 5x points. All this really shows is that Bilt keeps getting worse with every change.
