Alaska / Hawaiian’s Atmos Rewards has announced a batch of new changes.

Starting October 1, members can choose how they want to earn points for flights departing on or after January 1, 2027: based on distance flown, ticket price, or flight segments. Existing members who do not make an active selection will continue earning based on distance flown by default.

More notably, in 2027 Alaska plans to allow some Bank of America card points to be transferred to Atmos Rewards, with additional transfer partnerships with other financial institutions planned later. If this ultimately covers BofA’s existing points ecosystem, Atmos will gain a noticeably larger set of points sources.

Atmos Rewards also plans to launch a new debit card in early 2027. Spending on the card can earn Atmos Points and Status Points, and the card will offer benefits such as discounts on airfare and inflight purchases, free points sharing, and no foreign transaction fees. Pre-registration is already available.

Atmos Communities will also expand from 2 to 6, including themes such as international travel, family travel, outdoor activities, and dining. Starting November 2, Platinum and Titanium members will also be able to bring eligible children and 1 companion into Premium Class for free when space is available.
