Apple has agreed to pay $250 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging the company misled consumers in its marketing of AI features for the iPhone 16 and certain iPhone 15 models.

Under the proposed settlement, U.S. customers who purchased an iPhone 16 series device, iPhone 16E, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025 may receive between $25 and $95 per device.

At the center of the lawsuit is Apple’s advertising of Apple Intelligence features such as an “enhanced Siri” — features that did not launch alongside the iPhone 16, and some still have not gone live yet. While Apple denies any wrongdoing, it says the settlement will allow it to focus its efforts on advancing product innovation.

Also worth noting, Apple announced in January this year that it would use Google’s Gemini AI model to upgrade its on-device assistant, but the feature missed its originally planned February launch as well. Google’s latest statement says the upgrade will be completed by the end of 2026.

If a class action claim form becomes available later, we will share an update as soon as possible.
