About This Promotion

The AMEX Platinum Card launched in 1984, so this year marks its 40th anniversary. Amex has rolled out a series of special travel and shopping promotions, and there is finally an official landing page for them.

FHR THC Hotel Promotion

There is also a 40th anniversary hotel promotion right now. Some FHR and THC properties are offering a stay-two-get-one-free deal, which means the third night is free. You can check the link below to see which hotels are participating. This could be pretty nice if it can be stacked with the FHR credit, although FHR hotels are usually expensive, so it is rare to find one where two nights total less than $250.

For example, booking the hotel below would save $1,900.

Transfer Bonus

There is a 40% bonus when transferring Membership Rewards points to Hilton, for a final ratio of 1:2.8. It appears that all Platinum cardholders should be able to see it.

I could not see it before, but now it is showing up for me, and it is also labeled as a Platinum 40th anniversary promotion.

There are 20 Resy restaurants offering special events for AMEX Platinum cardholders. If you are interested, it may be worth taking a look.

There are also some Platinum-targeted AMEX Offers. If you do not see them in your Platinum offer section, try adding some offers you do not need first until the number of visible offers drops below 100, then refresh and see whether these offers appear:
