【07/02 Update】On Dell’s website, Xbox gift cards can use code GAME10, and the $100 denomination gets $10 off. Xbox has always been a good way to use Dell credit. If you don’t have anything to buy, you can consider this. The second half of the year is still long, so you can buy one $100 card first (or place two separate orders for two cards). The total credit for the second half is $200 (an extra $100 was added because of the pandemic). HT: DOC

Use the credit early and relax early; use it early and feel better sooner~

It’s already July! A reminder that you can now start using the semiannual Saks benefit on the AMEX Platinum card and Centurion Card, as well as the Business Platinum Dell credit (best used when the Shopping Portal payout is highest or the AMEX Offer is best):

Note that all of these benefits need to be enrolled in through your AMEX online account!

Also, regarding Saks shopping strategies, if you only want to use the $50 credit, here’s one idea you can consider:

  • Go to a Saks store and buy an item worth $50 (there are DPs showing that buying a physical $50 gift card in-store may get clawed back according to DPs; there aren’t many DPs, YMMV)
  • Keep the item, then go back to the store the next day and ask an associate to help you return it for a physical Saks gift card (do not take a refund). This kind of return will not appear on your AMEX statement and has nothing to do with AMEX.
  • Once you’ve accumulated enough $50 gift cards, you can decide later whether to sell them or stack them for personal use.
  • This method is officially allowed by Saks, but don’t overuse it. For online purchases, you can also try going to the store and returning them for a physical gift card, but success is not guaranteed. In short, YMMV.

Don’t forget to stack your purchase with a shopping portal and AMEX Offer, especially for Dell, where AMEX Offers are pretty plentiful. Cashback sites currently have relatively low rates for Saks, so you may want to wait until they are higher. The highest rates are 10%-12%, and in my view 10% is enough to go for it. I personally recommend using the TCB or MR version of Rakuten.
